Unfortunately for Qualley, her skin didnt react well to them.
She said she developed crazy prosthetic acne, and it lasted long beyondThe Substances five-month shoot in early 2022.
Her breakouts even influenced how they filmed her toward the end of production.
Even with a cooling vest on, it was very hot for her.
So, we had to take a break and stop the shooting while people were recovering.
It was quite tough.
Qualley recently recalled toVogueAustraliahow much she disliked having to have it all applied.
I would stay up all night dreading the prosthetics, she told the magazine.
I would have such anxiety about it.
Ultimately, though, the project wasimportant to Qualley.
She recalled on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast that she was interested in it as soon as she read the script.
I wanted to see that movie and I wanted to tell that story, she said.
