Ahead of her new Off-Broadway show, the comedian takes Bustle backstage.

And then delayed again.

After her acclaimed seriesCrazy Ex-Girlfriendwrapped in 2019, Bloom began working on new material.

She reworked the premise.

And then also, how can you acknowledge death, but continue to live?

It would have been too painful.

Its also part of my personal narrative: not just Adam passing away, but also being a mother.

Its a change to my identity it feels like Im kind of cosplaying.

You want some kind of simple carbs to give you energy.

On backstage superstitions:

Im a break a leg person.

Its like, you say good luck and [mimics people clutching their pearls].

I take a stab at be respectful.

Thats been a game-changer.

I used to go hoarse during TV shows because my schedule was so insane.

And then I like a good come-down [after a show].

Ill get dressed, and maybe Ill f*ck around on my phone for a couple minutes.

And then if anyones visiting me, I like seeing people and talking about the show.

And then Ill go up and see the fans.
